The Countess of Chester Hospital is renowned for it innovation in vascular surgery and its procedures in the treatment of varicose veins. The Countess of Chester Hospital became the first trust in the country to trial Cyanocrylate.
Sameh Dimitri, lead vascular consultant surgeon at the Countess, who conducted the trial, said: “I am very proud the Countess is the first provider in the UK to take part in the eSCOPE trial and it further demonstrates the trust’s commitment to being at the forefront of clinical developments.”
At the time Mr Dimitri was the only consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon in the UK approved to provide training to other surgeons in cyanoacrylate glue treatment under the original inventing company Sapheon prior to them being acquired by Medtronic.
